The Ayrshire coast was hit hard by the recent Storm Boelo and our Path Wardens are currently doing their best to check all 106 miles of the Ayrshire Coastal Path for issues. So far we are aware of the following. If you know of anything else feel free to let us know.
Route closed between Croy & Dunure. Blocked due to fallen trees. No alternative route.
Troon Ballast Bank - low path closed due to severe erosion. As far as we know the upper path is open.
Blackhouse Burn track near Knock Hill, Largs - closed due to fallen trees from an earlier storm (has been closed for some time - if anyone local can assist with contacting the landowner please get in touch.
Damage to path surfaces and build up of debris on all the main Promenades: Prestwick, Troon, Ayr/Doonfoot, Largs.
Pow Burn between Prestwick and Troon - passable with care. A huge amount of debris has accumulated on approach both sides.
Shore route between Newton and Prestwick at St Nicholas Golf Course - passable with care. Loose rocks and debris.
Track alongside West Kilbride Golf Course at Ardneil Bay on approach to Portencross - passable with care. Some damage to path surface.
It's an ever-changing situation as you can imagine. Please update us whenver you can
