After erecting our second kissing gate, a small sleeper stile over an electric fence, and a new metal signpost near the Currarie/Langdale march a few weeks ago, we have since been hampered by bad weather and cattle grazing, but today at last we managed vehicle access down the clifftop field with all our gear..
The weather was a bit windy, but with a big six-man squad of Jimmy, Gus, David M, Kevin S, Mike, and Stephen G, we managed to build a new wee sleeper bridge across Wilson’s Burn, raise and re-position signs on the new post that had been moved sideways by scratching cattle, and attach a sign cover - which the farmer will move and adjust each time he has cattle in the field to indicate which route to follow during their occupation.
We then strimmed a new path up to the march kissing gate through the bracken - and gave the BIg Gully cross-path a badly needed strimming before heading home well-satisfied after a five-hour stint.
