Travel

Car

The entire length of the walk is very well served by roads running parallel the coast that provide excellent access by car.

ferriesBus

Stagecoach and other services are frequent and regular to all towns and villages en route.

Train

Scotrail Services from Glasgow to Stranraer cover all coastal towns south of Kilwinning, with a branch service from Kilwinning up to Largs. A service from Glasgow to Wemyss Bay covers the northern section of the walk.

Air

Prestwick Airport is only a few hundred yards from the Path. Glasgow International Airport is 25 miles from the North end of the route.

Boat

POFerries run from Stranraer or Troon to Ireland, and Calmac from Ardrossan to Arran, and from Wemyss Bay to Bute. All of these ports are on the route, and Ardrossan and Wemyss Bay would provide linkages with established walks on Arran and Bute.
